What is STUUR?
STUUR is a South African platform that connects clients with verified service providers (agents). We empower communities by creating job opportunities and making it easy to find trusted professionals for various services including plumbing, electrical, cleaning, IT support, laundry, car wash, and more.
How does STUUR make money?
STUUR charges a 10% service fee on completed jobs. This fee covers platform maintenance, secure payment processing, customer support, and community development initiatives. There are no registration fees or hidden charges.
Is STUUR available across South Africa?
Yes! STUUR operates in all 9 provinces across South Africa. We have agents and clients in major cities including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, and many more towns and communities.
How do I get started?
Simply create a free account on STUUR. Choose whether you're a client (looking for services) or an agent (offering services). Complete your profile, and you're ready to post jobs or find opportunities. You can also try our demo mode to explore the platform.
For Clients
How do I post a job?
Click "Post a Job" from your dashboard. Fill in the job details including title, description, category, budget, and location. Add photos if needed. Once posted, agents in your area will see your job and submit offers.
How do I choose an agent?
When agents submit offers, you can view their profiles, ratings, reviews, and proposed pricing. Compare multiple offers, check their previous work, and select the best fit for your needs.
What if I'm not satisfied with the work?
If you're unsatisfied, you can raise a dispute within 7 days of job completion. Our support team will review the case and work to resolve the issue fairly. Payments are held in escrow until you confirm satisfaction.
Can I cancel a job after posting?
Yes, you can cancel a job before accepting any offers. If an offer has been accepted, contact the agent directly to discuss cancellation terms. Any funds held will be refunded accordingly.
How do I communicate with agents?
You can message agents directly through our messaging system. All communication is logged and monitored for safety. You can also call agents if they've shared their contact details.
For Agents
How do I become a verified agent?
Complete your profile with accurate information, upload your ID document, and provide proof of skills or qualifications. Our team will review your application within 2-3 business days. Once verified, you'll receive a "Verified" badge.
How do I find jobs?
Browse the "Jobs" section to see available opportunities in your area. Use filters to find jobs matching your skills, budget preferences, and location. You can also set up notifications for new jobs.
How do I submit an offer?
Click on any job to view details. Submit your offer with your proposed price, estimated timeline, and a message to the client. Be competitive but fair. Include details about your experience and approach.
How do I get paid?
Once a client accepts your offer and confirms job completion, funds are released to your STUUR wallet. You can then withdraw to your bank account via EFT, PayShap, or choose store vouchers from Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and more.
What fees do agents pay?
Agents pay a 10% service fee on completed jobs. This covers platform costs, payment processing, and marketing. There are no registration fees or monthly subscription costs.
How can I improve my chances of getting hired?
Complete your profile thoroughly, add photos of your work, collect positive reviews, respond quickly to job requests, and submit competitive offers. Higher-rated agents with completed jobs get priority visibility.
For Business
What are the benefits of a business account?
Business accounts offer multiple user access, team management, consolidated invoicing, detailed analytics, B-BBEE reporting, and priority support. Perfect for companies with ongoing service needs.
Can I post multiple jobs at once?
Yes! Business accounts can post and manage multiple jobs simultaneously. You can track all your service needs in one dashboard, assign team members, and monitor progress.
How does business escrow work?
For business-to-business transactions, funds are held in escrow until both parties confirm satisfaction. This provides security for larger contracts and ensures quality delivery.
Do you offer B-BBEE reporting?
Yes, business accounts receive detailed B-BBEE reports showing your spending with verified suppliers, helping you track and improve your procurement scorecard.
Payments & Wallet
What is STUUR Cash Wallet?
STUUR Cash Wallet is your digital wallet for all transactions on the platform. You can deposit funds, receive payments, and withdraw to your bank account. All transactions are secure and instant.
How do I deposit money into my wallet?
You can deposit via PayFast using credit/debit cards, bank transfer, or PayShap. Minimum deposit is R50. Funds appear instantly in your wallet and are ready to use.
How do I withdraw money?
Go to your wallet, select "Withdraw", choose your withdrawal method (bank transfer, PayShap, or store voucher), enter the amount (minimum R200), and confirm. Withdrawals are processed within 2-3 business days.
What are the withdrawal fees?
Bank transfers and PayShap withdrawals are free! Store vouchers may have a small processing fee depending on the partner. We believe in keeping your earnings in your pocket.
How long do withdrawals take?
Bank transfers and PayShap take 2-3 business days. Store vouchers are delivered instantly to your email. All withdrawals are processed Monday-Friday.
What store vouchers are available?
You can withdraw to vouchers from Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, USave, Boxer, Woolworths, Makro, Game, CNA, KFC, McDonald's, Steers, Dis-Chem, Clicks, and more!
Security & Privacy
How is my data protected?
We use industry-standard encryption for all data transmission. Your personal information is stored securely and never shared with third parties without your consent. We comply with South Africa's POPIA regulations.
How are agents verified?
All agents undergo ID verification, background checks, and skills assessment before receiving a "Verified" badge. We take safety seriously to protect both clients and agents.
What happens to my payment information?
Payment information is processed through PayFast, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never store your full card details on our servers.
What if I see suspicious activity?
Report any suspicious activity immediately to support@stuur.co.za. Our security team investigates all reports within 24 hours.
Account & Profile
How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email, and we'll send you a link to reset your password. The link expires in 1 hour for security.
Can I change my account type?
Yes, you can switch between client and agent roles. Contact support to request a role change. Some verification may be required for agent accounts.
How do I update my profile?
Go to "Edit Profile" from your dashboard. You can update your name, contact details, bio, profile picture, and bank details. Changes are saved immediately.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, contact support to request account deletion. Please note that any pending funds will need to be withdrawn before deletion.
