Our Story
STUUR was born from a simple idea: connect skilled professionals with people who need their services.
Founded in 2025, STUUR started as a small initiative in Johannesburg to help local tradespeople find work. We saw that many skilled professionals - plumbers, electricians, cleaners, and handymen - struggled to find consistent work, while clients struggled to find reliable service providers.
Today, STUUR has grown into South Africa's leading on-demand services platform, connecting thousands of verified agents with clients across all 9 provinces. We're proud to be a non-profit initiative focused on community empowerment and job creation.
Our name "STUUR" comes from the Afrikaans word meaning "to send" - we send opportunities to those who need them, and send reliable professionals to those who need help.
